I approach therapy from a Person-Centered foundation while thoughtfully integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). At the core, I believe each individual has wisdom, strength, and resilience within them. My role is not to “fix” you, but to create a safe and intentional space where you can better understand yourself, process emotions, and move toward meaningful change.
In the room, I am warm, present, and direct. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and active. We will slow down enough to understand emotional patterns, but we will also identify how thoughts, behaviors, and core beliefs may be contributing to distress. I value emotional depth and accountability. Insight is important, but I also want clients to leave sessions with practical tools and clarity about next steps. I approach each client with cultural humility and an awareness that our identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences shape how we navigate the world. When desired, I am comfortable integrating faith or spiritual perspectives into treatment, honoring the whole person. Ultimately, I believe therapy is a collaborative process. We work as a team to increase emotional awareness, build healthier patterns, and strengthen resilience both inside and outside of the therapy room.
Prior to working at Therapy Today, I have worked in both clinical and educational settings supporting adolescents and adults. My background includes providing individual therapy to clients experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related concerns, relational conflict, and life transitions. I have also facilitated skill-based groups focused on emotional regulation, boundaries, and personal growth.
In addition to clinical therapy, I have experience serving as a Student Success Coach, where I supported high school students in underserved communities. In that role, I collaborated with families, educators, and administrators while helping students build emotional insight, accountability, and life planning skills. This experience strengthened my ability to meet clients where they are developmentally and culturally. My training has also included exposure to co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, and structured treatment planning.
Outside of the therapy room, I value connection, creativity, and intentional living. I’m someone who loves meaningful conversations, planning gatherings that bring people together, and creating spaces where others feel seen and cared for. Faith and reflection are important parts of my life, and I strive to live in a way that aligns with the growth and balance I encourage in my clients. I enjoy journaling, reading, spending time with loved ones, and finding small ways to make everyday moments feel special. I deeply believe in practicing what I teach, prioritizing emotional awareness, boundaries, and personal growth in my own life as well. My passion for serving underserved communities and advocating for mental health access has shaped both my academic and professional journey. At the heart of it all, I care deeply about people and the stories they carry, and I consider it an honor to sit with someone as they work toward healing and clarity.
