Bio

“Life is what we do with what has been done to us.” -Jean Paul Sartre

Through my own experiences with personal and family-of-origin challenges, I’ve developed a deep sense of empathy and understanding that guides my work as a counselor. I believe that each person experiences the world through a unique perspective, and that we are made up of many parts that come together to shape who we are. I use an eclectic counseling approach because no two clients are the same. Creating a safe, collaborative, and supportive environment is at the heart of my work. My goal is to hold space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors with confidence. I am especially passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults. I strive to make therapy fun and approachable, using a warm and non-judgmental style that encourages open expression. I often integrate creative modalities—such as art and play—to foster self-expression, build strengths, and make the therapeutic process feel both accessible and meaningful. I view therapy as a collaborative relationship, in which the client is in control while I aid with a helping hand in a way that feels authentic and sustainable for personal growth and development. I look forward to working with you to reach your full potential and navigate this wild ride we call life.

While completing my Ed.S. in Professional Counseling, I served as an outpatient therapist in both a college clinic and a group private practice, where I focused on helping teens and young adults navigate life transitions, anxiety, and depression. Before joining Therapy Today, I worked within community mental health agencies, providing individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. This journey eventually brought me to a school-based therapist role in a local middle school, where I had the privilege of serving underprivileged youth and their families—an experience that profoundly shaped my commitment to this work and helped me discover my desire for working with children. Throughout my career, I have gained experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, peer and relationship issues, and the many complexities that accompany major life transitions. I also have a strong history of collaboration with parents, educators, and school staff to support the emotional and academic well-being of children. My goal as a therapist is to create a compassionate, affirming space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

Born and raised in Tennessee, I’m a first-generation college graduate who has built a life grounded in resilience, curiosity, and a deep love for stories in every form—from the movies and books I unwind with to the personal narratives that have shaped me both personally and professionally. I’m a dog mom to two old men who keep life entertaining, and I’ve been with my high school sweetheart through every chapter life has thrown our way, including the loss of my father in 2015. His memory fuels my drive, empathy, and commitment to living a life that feels meaningful and authentic. We all have a story to tell, and I’m eager to learn yours—and to help develop it.
